God sent me rain today
it gently fell, padding the ground
so softly.

Just one shower
of pure light water.

Slightly softening the world
Moisturizing the cold, dry concrete
A simple and subtle rhythm of rain
drown out hard rock, piston, click of
shoes and shouting thoughts.

Still, it caresses my mind.

The clouds whispered across the sky yesterday
Today they gently nuzzled the earth with their
pearly contents.

Pouring harder and harder, tunnelling in
Erupting the dry earth
And the smell was divine
Of foilage and moistened earth
Mingled fresh, crisp, raw in the air
